Poki District<\/a> — Cash in on the poke craze at this fast-casual restaurant. Tons of variety, large portions, affordable and filling!<\/p>\n

Merzi<\/a> — The perfect spot if you\u2019re in a hurry to grab some grub before heading to the National Gallery of Art! Merzi has delicious Indian food and you\u2019ll get it in a jiff thanks to Chipotle-style ordering.<\/p>\n

Pitango Gelato<\/a> — \u00a0Authentic Italian gelato \u2014 need we say more? Try the chocolate hazelnut gelato and the affogato espresso. You’re welcome.<\/p>\n

BANG FOR YOUR BUCK<\/h3>\n

Good Stuff Eatery<\/a> — Mouthwatering burgers and milkshakes. You gotta try the Prez Obama burger: applewood bacon, onion marmalade, Roquefort cheese, and horseradish mayo. They also have a good veggie burger if that\u2019s more up your alley.<\/p>\n

Oyamel Cocina Mexicana<\/a> — Some call it the best Mexican in Washington. The homemade guacamole and ceviche are off the charts. You adventurous enough to try the grasshopper tacos?<\/p>\n

Hill County Barbeque Market<\/a> —\u00a0We’ll let this Foursquare review do the talking:\u00a0\u201cEverything. I literally tried everything and it was all delicious\u201d. Amazing BBQ, they\u2019ve also got a great lunch special.<\/p>\n

DELICIOUS SITDOWN<\/h3>\n

Rasika<\/a> \u2014\u00a0Very highly reviewed, Rasika\u2019s got it all: ambience, decor, delicious Indian food, and excellent service. Perfect for a romantic date before a trip to the museum.<\/p>\n

Carmine’s<\/a> \u2014 One of the best lunch specials in DC. But even if you can\u2019t catch the lunch special, we still recommend it. These Italian dishes are mouthwatering \u2014 and the portions are huuuuge. Good for families.<\/p>\n

China Chicano<\/a> \u2014 Chinese\/Japanese\/Peruvian fusion! Created by celebrity chef Jos\u00e9 Andr\u00e9s, who was named to Time\u2019s \u201c100\u201d Most Influential list and awarded \u201cOutstanding Chef\u201d by the James Beard foundation.<\/p>\n

BRUNCH & COFFEE<\/h3>\n

National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden Pavilion Cafe<\/a>\u00a0— This cafe is inside the museum! Talk about convenience. Has both indoor and outdoor seating in a beautiful sculpture garden. Quick, tasty, convenient. (And coffee.)<\/p>\n

Jaleo<\/a> — Sangria, tapas, gazpacho. No, we\u2019re not describing a day in heaven \u2014 this is just some of what\u2019s on the menu at Jaleo. Reservations recommended, especially for brunch.<\/p>\n

Tortilla Coast<\/a>\u00a0— This review speaks volumes: \u201cThe chips are so good they should come with handcuffs…to stop you from eating them endlessly!\u201d Good prices, large portions. Handcuffs not included.<\/p>\n

Starbucks<\/a> — It’s Starbucks.<\/p>\n

VEGAN & JUICE<\/h3>\n

Protein Bar<\/a>\u00a0— Large selection of health-conscious foods, lots of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. Raw juices too!<\/p>\n

HipCityVeg<\/a>\u00a0— Casual, trendy, lively veg spot. What some might call \u201cvegan fast food\u201d.<\/p>\n

Chop’t Creative Salad Company<\/a> — Express yourself through salad! Heads up: this one\u2019s about a 15 minute walk from the National Gallery of Art. Worth the trek.<\/p>\n

DRINKS<\/h3>\n

Hamilton’s Bar and Grille<\/a> — Very divey. Hosted the \u201cWorld Series of Flip Cup\u201d once upon a time. Tater tots are on the menu.<\/p>\n

barmini by Jose Andres<\/a>\u00a0— One word: swanky. Artisan cocktails, upscale setting. Reservations recommended, if you can get one.<\/p>\n

Cedar<\/a>\u00a0— An excellent option for happy hour. Slightly upscale w\/ creative cocktails. Try the banana bread and scallops (but maybe not together).<\/p>\n

SPLURGE<\/h3>\n

Fiola da Fabio Trabocchi<\/a> — If money ain\u2019t no thang, you\u2019ve just found your culinarily calling. This WaPo review sums it up: \u201cThe Maine lobster ravioli has garnered such a following that the chef can\u2019t take it off the menu without spurring a minor mutiny among his guests.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Capital Grille DC<\/a> — You might see some celebrities and politicians here. Get a reservation. The Capital Grille makes an amaaazing steak. (No veggie options.)<\/p>\n

Charlie Palmer Steak<\/a> — I know what you\u2019re thinking. Two steakhouses on one list? You caught us, but we couldn\u2019t leave out Charlie Palmer. Scenic views, and this steak will melt in your mouth like butter.<\/p>\n
